Student Art and Design Exhibition Application Instructions
TAGGED is open to all students and provides an opportunity to exhibit artwork in a professional gallery environment. Juried exhibitions are critical in the professional development of any artist. TAG and the Department of Art at UWF annually host the juried student art exhibition in an effort to foster passion in the arts and the pursuit of artistic endeavor. The UWF Department of Art faculty will juror the artwork for exhibition. The invitational juror selects the awards which will be announced during the opening reception. Students are encouraged to promote and sell their artwork. TAG is a non-profit gallery and takes no commission from the artist.
TAGGED is open to all currently enrolled UWF undergraduate and graduate students. Submitted artwork must have been created within the past two years and not been exhibited in any prior UWF juried student exhibition. TAG will accept up to three (3) submissions per artist in any medium. Any large work in need of special attention and/or equipment must be noted on the submission form in detail. Unfinished works will not be accepted.
Guidelines for Submissions
A submission form (available at the end of this post) must be completed and submitted with accompanying artwork by March 19th/20th, 2018. All artwork must be brought to TAG (CFPA building 82, room 235) on either March 19th or 20th between 10AM and 5PM to be juried. Please bring your student Nautilus card with you during drop-off to verify your student status. Special drop-off times may be accommodated if scheduled in advance with Gallery Director Nick Croghan. Please e-mail email@example.com if you need to make special arrangements to drop off your work. Submissions will be processed only if delivered completed, ready-to-hang, and on time. Please include the submission form for each artwork with the artist’s name, title of the work, medium and contact info attached to the back or underside of the piece.
Digital Submissions: Artists must drop off a CD or DVD to room 235, building 82 on either March 19th or 20th between 10AM and 5PM. All artwork must be complete and appropriately formatted.
1. Artist’s name clearly written on the CD/DVD. Include a small card in the case with the title of works included on the disk. (i.e. Submission 1-Title, Submission 2-Title, Submission 3-Title)
2. For 2D work, please include only one (1) image. For 3D work, please include two (2) images. Still images must be in PNG, PDF, or JPEG format. The largest accepted file size for each image is 1024 pixels, 72dpi, and 5mb.
3. Name each file on the CD/DVD following this format: LastName_FirstInitial_SubmissionNumber_ImageNumber
For example, if the artist was Claude Monet and he was submitting two 3D works titled “Lilies” (submission 1) and “Orangerie” (submission 2) his files names would look as follows.
Monet_C_1_1.png; Monet_C_1_2.png; Monet_C_2_1.png; Monet_C_2_2.png
Deadline for submission and artwork drop-off: March 19th and 20th, 2018
Notification of selection: March 22nd, 2018
Non-selected work pick-up: March 23rd, 2018
Exhibition dates: March 29 – April 14, 2018
Opening reception: March 29, 2018 from 5-8PM with award announcements at 6PM
