Deificatio: An exhibition of work by Marzia Prendergast

TAG UWF presents

Deificatio

An exhibition of work by UWF Art Faculty member Marzia Prendergast

August 12, 2010 – September 2, 2010

Closing reception: Thursday, August 26, 2010, 6-8pm

Reception sponsored by the Lewis Bear Company.

The photographic exhibition features a body of work developed by Ms. Prendergrast during her time as a graduate student at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (Mass Art) in Boston, Massachusetts.  According to the artist, “My work is not about religion and not about hate. It is about the concept of humanity and mysticism, physicality and ethereal space, duality of forms and ideas.  I am very fond of the photographic process and the timeless quality of the prints.”

Ms. Prendergast was born in Conegliano, Italy and has been a resident of Pensacola for eight years.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in painting from UWF in 2007 and her Masters of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2010.  She is currently an adjunct professor at the University of West Florida Department of Art.

The Art Gallery at the University of West Florida seeks to challenge, stimulate and engage students and the greater public through direct interaction with works of contemporary art.

All events are free and open to the public.  For more information contact TAG UWF at artgallery@uwf.edu or 850.474.2696.
